L-Base configuration with a 70° upright, ballasted on 15×30×8 tiles, stacked. One module weighs 88.2 kg and covers 1500 mm of edge — 58.8 kg per metre to carry up and lay out. Among the 40 configurations in this family it sits 17th by mass, between 36.9 and 177.5 kg; 10 ballast tiles are 81.8 kg of that, 93% of the assembly, lifted 8.2 kg at a time.

ballast and loading

Derived from this configuration's bill of materials — tile count and part mass as the payload states them, nothing assumed.

ballast tile detail

Bearing pressure is not published here: it needs the contact area of the feet and a load case, and the published data carries neither. Take the figures above to your structural engineer.

the 70° in this name

70° is the angle the stanchion stands at, measured from the roof surface — the catalogue writes it as “70° upward”. 90° stands the stanchion square to the roof; 70° sets the same stanchion 20° off square. That is the whole difference between this configuration and the 90° version: the two carry the same parts in the same quantities, and the same assembly mass.

Which angle to specify depends on the roof and the load case, and this catalogue does not publish that — see 70° and 90° explained, the declarations of performance on documents, or ask us.

the assembly underneath

Every L-Base configuration is one stanchion assembly plus its ballast — the configurations differ in ballast and angle, not in the stanchion.
